I just realized I haven’t done an interview with the deck I’m working with throughout my Biddy Tarot Certification and Tarot study!
This was purchased on April 2, 2021, from Etsy, so I’ve had it for just over a year. I can say that I really do enjoy reading with this deck and working with it has been a great choice. I typically read with more abstract/artsy decks but wanted to come back to something more traditional yet modern.
When I got a new deck I would cleanse it and connect with it, but my collection has grown so much that I didn’t have the time to do that with each new deck. This is one reason why I decided to stop purchasing new decks. I want to be a reader, not just a collector.
For this, I’m going to use a mashup of questions, but the spread is based on the Interview Spread from the Intuitive Tarot book by Brigit Esselmont (Biddy Tarot).

1. Introduce Yourself – The Chariot
The Chariot card shows a woman standing on two motorcycles. She has a wand (or drumstick) in her hand. Behind her is a body of water that separates her from the backdrop of a city. The Sun glows behind her, her hair is blowing in the wind and she’s wearing a crown with a star on it.
When I look at this card I see drive, focus, and movement. She is determined and disciplined. It takes a lot to balance on two motorcycles, yet she does so with ease. However, I do feel that she needs to pick a bike. You can’t ride a motorcycle like this, not safely anyway. It’s almost like she’s looking at or observing things before deciding which path to take.
This deck is about harnessing your power and acting with confidence. Knowing which path to take (or bike to ride) and having the stability to focus. This deck is here to help me find my inner will and to take action to overcome any challenges. You can and will win, but you can’t accomplish anything by standing still!
2. Why have you come into my life? Ace of Pentacles
There is a pentacle glowing with energy being offered up here. I noticed the gate or walkway here and it doesn’t matter if you are coming or going, the pentacle is still there. To obtain it you have to embark on a journey.
The Ace of Pentacles represents new opportunities. Working with this deck will help me take advantage of opportunities and harness the inner will to create my own. Planting seeds of manifestation and working to achieve my goals and dreams.
This deck can bring beautiful blessings into my life.
3. What are you here to help me with? Queen of Cups reversed
Self Love. I don’t have these cards reversed but this one did come out that way. When I see a reversal I think of the internal energy, especially in relation to this question. I have the tendency to pour my love and energy out to others, without always refilling my own cup.
Prioritizing self care, releasing unhealthy patterns, and finding compassion and forgiveness. I feel that this deck with help me align and connect with my role as a healer (especially as it relates to my business), mother, woman, and partner.
Tapping into and trusting my intuition. This is really beautiful because I’ve been feeling disconnected from my intuition and desire to get back to a place of complete trust within.
4. What are your strengths? Four of Cups
This card depicts a woman meditating with her back against a tree. Around here are 3 different types of cups, while another is being handed to her. She doesn’t see it in her peripheral view.
This card doesn’t feel like the disappointment of the Four of Cups in a traditional RWS deck. This feels like choosing to focus on what I want. Grounding, clearing my energy, and allowing the Divine, Universe, Spirit to provide for my needs.
I don’t feel this is missing out on blessings but rather expressing gratitude for all things with hope and expectancy for more or better and going within to release those feelings of disappointment.
The key here is not to miss the good things that are in my life. Be present, grateful, and acknowledge the love, abundance, gifts, and beauty in life.
5. What are your limitations? Eight of Pentacles
How could the Eight of Pentacles be a limitation? This is about mastery, so maybe there will be a lot of lessons, learning, and practice that come along with this deck. I can say that in the readings I have done, there has always been something that I didn’t fully see until I experienced it.
This deck is gonna make me work! I am ready for the work on all levels.
6. What’s the best way to connect with you? The Magician
I am another tool that you can use in your life to manifest and connect in with spiritual realms. Working with me consistently and having rituals is the best way to connect. Use me to channel the energy around you.
7. How do you work with other decks? Two of Swords
I think that working with other decks will help to solve problems and bring more information forward that will help with making decisions.
There’s also this energy of ‘I don’t want to’ coming up here, like working with other decks isn’t favored. I need to find an oracle deck that I can pair with this deck.
8. What readings or situations are you great at? Ace of Swords
Getting clarity, new ideas, peace of mind, communication, truth.
I love seeing this here. I’m highly claircognizant but also have a lot of Air/mental energy. So I think working with this deck will be perfect to get clarity and make sense of things.
9. Which readings challenge you? Four of Swords
Resting. I don’t think this deck is the one to use for healing. This is more about getting clarity and manifesting. This deck, embodies the Chariot and likes to take things head on, rather than falling back, pausing, and then going at things again. This deck wants to get things done!
10. How can we work together to deliver powerful readings? Judgment
This has to be one of my favorite Judgment cards. I love the play on the ancient Egyptian theme, weighing the heart against a feather. One of the things that comes up here is life review. Looking back over things, making peace, and learning from past experiences.
This gives me and those I read for the opportunity to choose to ascend their current circumstances.
11. What is the highest potential for our collaboration? The Moon
Shadow work!! These last two cards are so powerful! This is going beyond and illuminating the darkness. Bringing forward the things that need to be healed and addressed. Going deep into my intuition and trusting the information that arises. Highlighting fears and projections and coming back to using intuition to navigate the darkness.
This was such a great reading. It also reminded me of how beneficial interviewing a deck can be. I knew that I chose to work with this deck for a reason. There’s work to be done and I am ready for it!
