Friendships and Sisterhood mean a lot to me. I met Jen of jenoni.com about a year ago at a local blogging event. Since we have gotten to know each other better and share much in common, such as being Libras!
Jen of jenoni.com does Libra Season Right
All month long Jen celebrates her birthday and life with what she calls #JENtober. The amount of love she showers herself with for her birthday is amazing and I’m here for all of it. Who knows maybe there is a ‘JOtember’ in the making!! Either way I’m always down to support my fellow Libra Lady.
One of the things Jen did was have a brunch with her squad, and I’m so happy to be part of it. It’s not always easy for us ladies to get together. Between work, family, business, and life, being able to come together for a Birthday Brunch in honor of Jen was the highlight of my weekend.
I connected with new women who are also in the blogger and entrepreneurial space and got to see women who I admire and truly enjoy spending time with. That was a definite win.
I’ve had some not so good experiences growing up with women, so being able to meet and connect with women and form genuine bonds is priceless. To do it over the amazing food at J. Alexander’s for brunch, was an added bonus. My meal was free, and I am sharing my views on the restaurant because it was such a great experience. All thoughts and opinions are mine.
It’s an amazing restaurant. The ambiance is everything. I love art and pay a lot of attention to the interior design of restaurants. J. Alexander’s has really nice paintings adorning their walls. Even the light fixtures are fancy. I enjoyed the dimly lit atmosphere, although it wasn’t the best lighting for photographing my food. The food was excellent!
We chatted and sipped mimosas over appetizers. The Salmon Dip was delicious along with the Deviled Eggs, topped with bacon! The brunch menu had a great selection. I had a hard time deciding between the West End Quiche, Belgian Waffle, and the Brunch Burger. Everything look soooo tasty.
Normally I stick to a minimal meat diet. I mainly try to eat Salmon, because I want to transition to a plant based diet soon. For special occasions, such as #JENtober Birthday Brunch, I made an exception, and it was well worth it.
Moments like these shared over an amazing meal make for lifetime memories. It was good to see so many beautiful and accomplished women laughing, talking, and enjoying each others company. That is what sisterhood and friendship is all about. Being part of this group of women truly warms my heart.
J. Alexander’s here in Raleigh, is the perfect location to make memories with your friends or family. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. We were a big group and all our needs were addressed.
What’s Brunch Without Dessert
The best part of the meal was the dessert. OH MY GODDDDDD, I have dubbed this Breakup Cake, it’s the Beyonce of Ice Cream Cakes. I will definitely be returning to J. Alexander’s for brunch, the best part is that there wasn’t a long wait!

Food is a major way that people connect to each other, which is why brunches are so popular. If you’re in the Raleigh-Durham area and are looking for a great brunch dining experience, definitely give J. Alexander’s on Crabtree Valley a try. The ambiance and food are top notch, and the prices are very reasonable.
