There are several forms of energy healing techniques that can be used to restore and maintain overall health and well-being.
I’ve talked about Reiki, now I want to touch on other forms of non-traditional healing. You may have heard of them before, but aren’t sure how they work, or even if they actually do work.
The truth is that Reiki DOES work, I know this personally and there are many studies that support this as well. This is just one form of energy work, that uses the body’s energy to promote health and well-being. Some of the most common and familiar forms of energy work are acupuncture, acupressure, chakra balancing, and Reiki.
Reiki has a lot in common with all 3 of these healing modalities and a few key differences.
Acupuncture and acupressure are the most familiar forms of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Each uses the meridians, 14 different energy centers of the body, in different ways. With acupuncture, thin metal needles are used to balance, stimulate, or adjust the energy within the meridian.
With acupressure, a finger or knuckle is used to press on each meridian and get the energy to unblock and flow once more.
Chakra healing comes from traditional Indian (Ayurvedic) medicine. The word chakra means wheel or vortex of energy, and the 7 chakras are believed to be the seat of certain forms of energy, such as the heart for love and compassion and the throat for effective communication. The chakras can be balanced using Reiki, color or sound therapy, and even meditation.
Reiki Energy Healing
Reiki means spirit energy. It is commonly translated as universal life force energy. The goal of using Reiki is to balance and move around the vital energy that keeps us alive and healthy. If the qi stops flowing, illness can result.
Reiki is different from acupuncture and acupressure because it is a form of “hands on healing,’ laying hands on the body in certain positions to balance the meridians and chakras but without pressure. It can also be done without touching the person at all. It can also be performed using crystals and harnessing their energy.
If you’ve been feeling drained or stressed, you may want to give Reiki a try. It’s a gentle modality and can enhance body, mind, and spirit if you receive regular treatments and practice living a healthy lifestyle.
Energy healing practices can be used to help you when it comes to matters of the heart including, grief and heartache. They helped me balance my mind, heart, and emotions, which is what led me to become an energy healing practitioner.
The moments of peace and stillness during an energy healing session allow you to relax so that you can start releasing the emotional pressure you feel inside. I can’t wait to combine these practices with massage and bodywork in my own spiritual wellness center.
